Fairfax High School (FHS) is a Public school (government funded), public Secondary school, high school in the East Coast of the United States, Eastern United States, located in Fairfax, Virginia, a suburb west of Washington, D.C. in Northern Virginia. The school is owned by the City of Fairfax, but is operated by Fairfax County Public Schools under a contractual agreement between it and Fairfax County, Virginia, Fairfax County. The school building, which opened in 1973, is located on Blenheim Boulevard in eastern Fairfax. In 2007, FHS underwent a $54 million renovation designed by architectural firm BerryRio. Renovations began in October 2005 and added . of classroom space. Student numbers have increased at such a high rate that four trailers have been installed. Fairfax High School (officially Fairfax Senior High School) is a Los Angeles Unified School District high school located in Los Angeles, California, near the border of West Hollywood in the Fairfax District. The school is located on a campus at the intersection of Fairfax Avenue and Melrose Avenue, north of the CBS studios, right at the heart of the Thirty Mile Zone. Several sections of Los Angeles, including the Fairfax District, Park La Brea, portions of Hancock Park, and Larchmont, and the city of West Hollywood are served by Fairfax. Fairfax Academy (formerly Fairfax School) is a secondary school with academy status in the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield, near Birmingham. The school was established in 1959. The school has a sixth-form. History The School opened in 1959; the founding Headmaster was Mr G Philpott. He was followed by Don Field. The School became a grant maintained, under the headship of Mr Richard Metcalfe, it then transitioned to become a foundation school under the School Standards and Framework Act 1998. The School converted to become an Academy (English school) on 1 July 2011 under the headship of Mrs S Calvert. Calvert had been appointed headteacher in September 2006, and left in December 2011. Chase High School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form, located in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, England. Pre-Chase history In 1913, Westborough School opened in MacDonald Avenue, Westcliff-on-Sea with Infants, Senior Boys and Senior Girls departments. Sixteen years later, Southend Borough Council opened the Junior Day Department at Fairfax Drive which specialised in technical and commercial subjects, but in 1934 it was moved to the Municipal College site at Victoria Circus and Fairfax Senior Mixed School was opened at the site.
